Aseel Al-Khalili is a registered psychotherapist with Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Executive Health team. Ms. Al-Khalili believes in an integrated approach to counselling and uses person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness based practices, emotion focused therapy and solution focused therapy. She has a special interest in helping her patients work through anxiety, depression, self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, loss and bereavement and stress management.
Born in Trier, Germany and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Ms. Al-Khalili was always drawn to understanding human behaviour and helping people overcome personal obstacles. She decided to turn this passion into a career and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal. She went on to obtain her Masters in Counselling Psychology from McGill University in Montreal before doing some training with the Marital and Family Therapy Program at the Argyle Institute of Human Relations in Westmount, Quebec. Since then, Ms. Al-Khalili has dedicated more than twelve years to counselling and psychotherapy in a variety of settings including universities, colleges, private practice and hospitals.
Ms. Al-Khalili has a strong belief in the importance of prioritizing psychological wellbeing and helps her patients to develop habits and practices that allow them to work through stressors and build resiliency.
When she’s not working, Ms. Al-Khalili likes to paint, design, explore different neighbourhoods in Toronto and entertain friends.
