Biography

Emily Ford is a resident physiotherapist at Cleveland Clinic Canada working with our multidisciplinary sports health team.

Ms. Ford has an impressive educational background. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. In addition to this, she holds both an Honours Bachelor and a Master of Kinesiology degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. Throughout her research-based masters she took a special interest in concussion populations and balance control.

Ms. Ford worked in multiple settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and private practices with an array of patients from paediatrics to older adults. She is passionate about providing a holistic approach to physiotherapy and individualized care for each patient to help them reach their goals.

Throughout these experiences, Ms. Ford has gained skills in manual therapy, exercise prescription, taping, gait training, stairs training, and vestibular management. She plans to expand her knowledge with courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, and concussion management.  

When she’s not with patients, Ms. Ford plays tennis, attends fitness classes, and is training for a half marathon. Ms. Ford also grew up as a competitive dancer in various styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip-hop.
