Biography
Shankary Kanaganayakam, MD, is a Family Physician in our Concierge Medicine Program. Dr. Kanaganayakam has a strong interest in women’s health and preventative care. She is passionate about health education and patient empowerment and is dedicated to delivering world class, evidence-driven healthcare while serving and educating her community.
Dr. Kanaganayakam has extensive experience in the field of family medicine. She is dedicated to fostering relationships with each of her patients and acting as their most trusted point of access to healthcare. This unique depth of knowledge allows her to provide diagnoses driven by an intimate knowledge of their personal and family history.
Dr. Kanaganayakam first obtained her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Toronto before going on to complete her Doctor of Medicine at McMaster University. She completed her Residency in Family Medicine at Toronto East General Hospital, during which time she held the role of Chief Resident. Most recently, she has expanded her scope of practice to include the provision of cosmetic medical injectable therapies, as she enjoys the intersection of artistry and procedural work in this area of aesthetic medicine.
When she’s not treating patients, Dr. Kanaganayakam enjoys hiking, skiing, swimming, travelling and taking Barre classes. She is fluent in both English and Tamil.
