Biography

Joo Yoon, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Dr. Yoon has a strong interest in providing care for various musculoskeletal conditions such as tendon, ligament injuries and osteoarthritis. He is also an advocate for exercise as medicine. 

Dr. Yoon completed his Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto. With his interest in treating athletic injuries, he pursued his Fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Toronto and has also obtained his diploma of Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Dr. Yoon is actively involved in the world of sports. He has experience providing medical coverage for the men's basketball, hockey, and football teams at the University of Toronto. Dr. Yoon has volunteered at several national and international events such as the Biosteel All Canadian Basketball Games, CCAA Soccer national championships, and International Skating Union World Synchronized Skating Championships. He is also a national Classifier for Climbing Escalade Canada.

When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Yoon enjoys climbing, weight training, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
