Anil Maheshwari, MD, is an Executive Health Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada. He has over 20 years of experience as a primary care physician in both the US and Canadian healthcare systems and particularly enjoys practicing preventive medicine. He is passionate about counseling his patients on lifestyle changes such as weight loss and exercise to prevent chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, fatty liver and heart disease. He is a strong advocate for lifestyle medicine and technology in medicine on multiple social media platforms.
Dr. Maheshwari was a Henry Rutgers Scholar who graduated from Rutgers University before going on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at New Jersey Medical School. He subsequently completed a three year residency in Family Medicine at Mountainside Hospital. He is an accomplished public speaker who has presented preventative medicine and health topics at various organizations and has been featured as an expert on national and local TV, radio and in newspapers. Currently, he holds the role of Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University. He is also a Peer Leader for OntarioMD, assisting physicians to optimize their use of technology in clinical care. He has served as a Lead Physician in a multi-disciplinary Family Health Team and Chief of Family Medicine at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Maheshwari enjoys running and photography.
