Biography
Dr. Maddie Walker, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada working with our multidisciplinary sports health team.
Dr. Walker completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Walker attended one year of Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Alberta before shifting her focus to Family Medicine at McMaster University. She continued her education, completing her Sport and Exercise Medicine fellowship at the University of Toronto.
Her clinical experience spans from varsity sports and professional teams to performing arts organizations, providing on-field and backstage medical care. She brings a diverse background in family medicine, orthopedic surgery, and athletic event coverage, working with elite athletes across men’s and women’s hockey, football, soccer, women’s field hockey, and ballet. She recently worked as the team physician with Canada Basketball's U19 Women's National Team at the World Cup.
Dr. Walker has been involved in research on sports injuries, emergency medicine innovation, and musculoskeletal disorders, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and textbook contributions.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Walker is a member of the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and is committed to advancing athlete health and performance.
When she is not supporting patients, Dr. Walker enjoys travelling and staying active with weight training, Pilates, yoga, and long walks with her dog.
