Biography
Noura Sheikhalzoor is a Registered Dietitian at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Ms. Sheikhalzoor is passionate about the interaction between science and art in her practice. She empowers her patients with information and applicable tools to achieve their health goals. She has extensive experience providing nutrition and lifestyle support and counselling for managing insulin resistance, diabetes, blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She also supports her patients with coaching and education for weight management.
Ms. Sheikhalzoor obtained her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the United Arab Emirates University’s College of Food and Agriculture. During this time, she also trained as a dietetic intern at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the UAE. She went on to complete the Dietetics Pre-Registration Program at Ryerson University before obtaining her Master of Science in Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan. Since graduation, she has completed additional training in areas including women’s health, intuitive eating, natural health products, and digestive health. Ms. Sheikhalzoor is a Certified Diabetes and Certified Bariatric Educator and Certified Natural Products Advisor.
Ms. Sheikhalzoor believes in a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care. She is fascinated by the variety of cultural food practices and the role of food in shaping people’s lives. She uses a holistic approach to health that addresses the human being as a whole while also considering their environment.
Dedicated to learning and teaching, Ms. Sheikhalzoor is always looking to discover the latest in her field and share it with both her peers and her patients. She previously held the role of Teaching and Research Assistant and Fellow at the University of Saskatchewan.
When she’s not seeing patients, Ms. Sheikhalzoor enjoys reading, hiking, photography, cooking, and watching stand-up comedy.
