Biography

Marlo Paraboo is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with the Executive Health team at Cleveland Clinic Canada. She has over 20 years of experience in the human services field with both leadership and direct support positions. She has extensive experience in clinical practice supporting marginalized children, youth, young adults, and families within a variety of education and healthcare settings.

Ms. Paraboo holds a Bachelor of Child and Youth Care from Humber College and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. She continued her role in academia as a part-time professor in the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies at Sheridan College where she taught practice models in child and youth care and social work to her students. Her professional career has provided the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and stages of life. She has provided both individual and group support for anxiety and depression to students and adults and has worked with inter-disciplinary teams to provide care plans for those in crisis.

Dedicated to a practice that is grounded in an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, trauma-informed, and person-centred approach, Ms. Paraboo focuses on meeting patients where they’re at and helping them to move towards a path of wellness.

When she’s not seeing clients, Ms. Paraboo enjoys watching action and suspense movies, reading biographies, and travelling with family and friends to sunny destinations.
