Biography

Esther Sturm, MD, is an Executive Health Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Dr. Sturm has over three decades of experience in primary care, with an emphasis on prevention, wellness and acute and chronic patient management. She is particularly interested in counselling, women's health and pediatrics.

Originally from New York City, Dr. Sturm began her career in the field of nursing and worked at Beth Israel Hospital. After moving to Toronto she decided to complete her Masters of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She then decided to pursue a career in medicine and obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto, followed by her family practice residency at Mt. Sinai hospital. She has been in practice since 1986 and has enjoyed the challenges and the rewards of caring for people in her practice over that period of time.

Dr. Sturm feels passionately about the relationships she develops with her patients- some over a period of 30 years. She enjoys interacting with people and providing both preventative and emotional counselling. She is a dedicated health educator with a focus on prevention.

When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Sturm loves to spend time with her five children and ten grandchildren. Her hobbies include sports, music and reading. She is an avid traveller and enjoys experiencing new cultures and cruising, hiking and sightseeing.
