Biography
Jeffrey Tolmie, OD is an Optometrist at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Dr. Tolmie has over a decade of experience in the optometric field and provides comprehensive eye care with a special interest in refractive surgery , and ocular disease.
Dr. Tolmie obtained his Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University before earning his Doctor of Optometry with Honours from the University of Waterloo. During his optometric training, he was recognized with multiple academic awards, including the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for excellence in clinical care of low vision patients. He completed extensive clinical training across primary care, specialty clinics, ocular disease, and refractive surgery, including externships in both Canada and the United States.
Having practiced in a variety of full-scope and surgical co-management settings, Dr. Tolmie has experience in both refractive surgery centres and multidisciplinary eye institutes. He has significant experience performing pre- and post-operative assessments for procedures such as LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ICL, refractive lens exchange, and cataract surgery. He has also worked closely with ophthalmologists in the management of glaucoma, retinal disease, and complex ocular conditions.
When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Tolmie enjoys visiting local parks with his three children, playing hockey, and cheering on his favourite Toronto sports teams.
