Biography

Krista King is a Nurse Practitioner at Cleveland Clinic Canada. She has experience providing care to patients with various acute and chronic medical conditions such as postpartum depression, chronic pain, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, asthma and COPD.

Ms. King first obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from the Memorial University of Newfoundland before going on to obtain her Master of Nursing. She then completed a Post-Masters in the Nurse Practitioner program, training in areas such as maternity care, women’s health, pediatric emergency medicine, adult emergency medicine, and primary care.

Ms. King enjoys establishing meaningful relationships with her patients and their families, and has a particular interest in primary care, pediatrics, and women’s health. She is a member of the Canadian Translational Advisory Committee that was established to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the Personalized Risk Assessment for Prevention and Early Detection of Breast Cancer Integration and Implementation project into clinical practice.

Ms. King is dedicated to helping healthcare professionals engage in collaborative practice. She currently acts as Faculty Associate at the Center for Collaborative Health Professional Education (CCHPE) with the Faculty of Medicine and also provides clinical nursing education to undergraduate nursing students. She enjoys facilitating interprofessional education among medical, nursing, pharmacy, social work and psychology students at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

When she’s not treating patients, Ms. King enjoys hiking the East Coast Trail and travelling with her husband and son.
