Julia Hamilton, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada.

Dr. Hamilton attended medical school at the University of Toronto. She went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine followed by a fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine also at the University of Toronto. She is currently a member of the teaching faculty in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, teaching musculoskeletal medicine to family medicine residents and the enhanced skills residents in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Dr. Hamilton provides care for active individuals of all ages, from children to seniors. She enjoys the unique nature of her field and the exposure to a wide variety of physical activities, training regimens, and lifestyles. A strong believer that good physical health will help to maintain all other components of health, Dr. Hamilton strives to keep her patients active while treating their injuries and is rewarded to see them return to, or exceed, their pre-injury level of function.

Dr. Hamilton has experience treating a wide range of professional, elite and amateur athletes. She is currently the Company Physician for the National Ballet of Canada, the Team Physician for the Canadian Beach Volleyball team, and assists with the MLS Toronto FC professional soccer team. She has previously travelled with the Canadian Para-Athletics team for the London 2012 games, the Canadian Senior Women’s National Soccer team, the Canadian Under 17 Women’s National Soccer team, and the Canadian Under 16 Women’s National Basketball team.

When she’s not treating patients, Dr. Hamilton likes to spend time outdoors skiing, golfing, playing tennis and chasing her twin boys. Prior to becoming a mom, she competed at the provincial and national level in squash.
