Aly J. Chunara


Aly J. Chunara, PT, is a physiotherapist with Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Sports Health program. He graduated with honours from the University of Toronto's four-year physiotherapy program and also holds a degree in Neuroscience and Psychology.

Mr. Chunara arrived at our facility after practicing for over seven years at the Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic in Toronto’s Yorkville District. As Clinic Associate, Mr. Chunara played a vital role in the development of research-based programs of care, new business, and provided onsite consulting at the Occupational Health department of the Toronto Star.

Since 1999, Mr. Chunara has been a Clinical Instructor for the University of Toronto’s Physical Therapy Program, and has shared his knowledge and experience with graduate students on how to effectively and efficiently deliver client care. He was recently selected by the University’s International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation (ICDR) to lead a rehabilitation project to the developing world.

Patient care with Mr. Chunara ranges from client education, to direct "hands-on" mobilization to conditioning and sports injury rehabilitation, and is provided in a one-on-one setting.

Mr. Chunara provides a strong orthopaedic presence to the team. His post-graduate training has focused on manual therapy courses in the treatment of acute, chronic and repetitive strain conditions of the spine and extremities. Mr. Chunara also actively pursues the most current information in the field by attending international medical conferences and symposiums.

Mr. Chunara has been a spokesperson for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), representing them at annual functions in Toronto, including the Women’s Health Forum and Canada Blooms. He has also shared his expertise in the treatment and prevention of various conditions on local and national television.

Mr. Chunara stays active by cycling, weight training and playing tennis. He also enjoys traveling to fascinating locales around the world. Mr. Chunara is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Gujarati.
