Biography
Steve Hirsch, MD, is an Executive Health Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada. In his role, Dr. Hirsch provides comprehensive executive health assessments and personalized preventive care, helping patients optimize their health and well-being through evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Dr. Hirsch completed his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He then completed his family medicine residency at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Hirsch has practiced comprehensive family medicine in Mississauga for more than four decades. During this time, he served as Lead Physician for the Mississauga Family Health Organization for 15 years. He was also a staff physician in the Department of Primary Care at Trillium Health Partners for more than 30 years, served as Chief of the Department of Family Medicine at Credit Valley Hospital for six years, and practiced as a part-time Emergency Physician at Credit Valley Hospital for 23 years. In addition, Dr. Hirsch was a lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. He also served as a Senior Medical Consultant at a Toronto-based executive health clinic for more than 20 years and consulted in disability management for six years.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hirsch is an accomplished educator and speaker. He has facilitated health education seminars for the Retirement Planning Institute for more than a decade and is the author of Health First: Winning at Weight Loss and Wellness, a book focused on healthy living and sustainable weight management.
When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Hirsch enjoys running marathons and half marathons, cycling, travelling, attending the theatre, listening to music, and exploring fine dining.
