Biography

Daniel Warshafsky, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician and a member of Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Medical Director Program. Dr. Warshafsky has a strong interest in public health, and holds the role of Senior Medical Consultant for the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health in Ontario.  

Dr. Warshafsky first obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario before going on to complete his Doctor of Medicine. His passion for healthcare led him to pursue his Master of Public Health from Columbia University in New York. He relocated to Queen’s University to complete his Residency in Family Medicine, followed by a Fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Toronto. Post Fellowship, Dr. Warshafsky completed specialized training through the Public Health and Preventive Medicine program at Queen’s University, a unique 5-year program that explores ways to improve the health of individuals and communities at the local, provincial, national, and international levels.

An avid researcher, Dr. Warshafsky has contributed to numerous publications and presentations across North America on subjects such as chronic disease prevention, physical activity promotion, health equity and concussion management. He currently acts as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health, as well as an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University’s Department of Family and Community Medicine.   

When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Warshafsky enjoys spending time with his wife and his two young sons, swimming, reading and exploring. In his rare moments of free time, he enjoys playing tennis, golf, reading and gaming.
