Weiping (Ivy) Zhang, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Dr. Zhang has a strong interest in sport and exercise medicine, musculoskeletal injuries, ultrasound-guided procedures, concussion management, and helping individuals safely return to physical activity and sport.
Dr. Zhang earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University, then obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of the Americas in St. Kitts & Nevis. She completed her Family Medicine residency at AdventHealth Winter Park in Florida, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at AdventHealth Orlando in partnership with Rothman Orthopedics, where she gained advanced training in diagnosing and managing of musculoskeletal injuries, ultrasound-guided procedures, regenerative medicine, and athlete care.
Providing individualized, evidence-based care, Dr. Zhang helps her patients recover from injury, improve function, and achieve their health and performance goals. She believes in a collaborative approach to care, working closely with patients and rehabilitation professionals to develop treatment plans tailored to the needs of each individual.
Active in the sports medicine community, Dr. Zhang has provided medical coverage for athletes across a wide range of professional, collegiate, and community sporting events. She has served as an assistant to the team physician for the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), Osceola Magic (NBA G League), and Orlando Valkyries, and has participated in the care of athletes during Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training. Dr. Zhang has also provided medical coverage for numerous sporting events, including the Walt Disney World Marathon, the Pop Warner Super Bowl, the Florida Classic, and other regional athletic competitions.
When she’s not treating patients, Dr. Zhang enjoys mystery thriller novels, perfumery, and trying out new fitness activities.
