Leslie Jurecko, MD, MBA, is Chief Safety, Quality, and Patient Experience Officer of Cleveland Clinic Health System, and a pediatric hospitalist with Cleveland Clinic Children’s. As Chief Safety, Quality, and Patient Experience Officer, Dr. Jurecko is responsible for the development and implementation of Cleveland Clinic’s Enterprise Quality and Safety strategy.

Dr. Jurecko served as Senior Vice President for Quality, Safety and Experience for Spectrum Health, a nonprofit integrated health system. In this role, she oversaw patient safety, quality, patient experience, employee safety, medication safety, infection prevention, patient relations, pastoral care, ethics and clinical analytics. She led the consolidation of Spectrum Health’s safety and quality strategy and infrastructure across the system, which she executed on a high reliability operating model.

From 2013 to 2017, Dr. Jurecko served as Medical Director for Quality and Safety for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (within Spectrum Health).

Dr. Jurecko earned her Master of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University, Seidman College of Business, and a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan. She received her medical degree from Wayne State University and completed her pediatric residency at Northwestern University, Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Jurecko also completed the Patient Safety Executive Development Program and the Chief Quality Officer Program at The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

In 2020, Becker’s Hospital Review named Dr. Jurecko one of the top 50 patient safety experts to know.

She was also listed as an honoree for Crain’s Detroit Business 2020 Notable Women in Healthcare. In addition, Modern Healthcare named Dr. Jurecko as an “Up and Comer” and she was named to Grand Rapids Business Journal’s Influential Women in 2018.

Driven to reduce preventable suffering of patients and share any learnings broadly, Dr. Jurecko is frequently invited to speak at national conferences that focus on patient safety and experience. She serves on the Learning Committee for Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS). She also serves on Vizient’s Quality Executive Network for Large Systems.
