Lisa Yerian is Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical and Operational Improvement Officer at Cleveland Clinic. In this role, she leads more than one thousand caregivers in building an improvement culture and driving strategic improvements in safety, quality, patient experience, continuous improvement and patient access throughout Cleveland Clinic.
Previously, Dr. Yerian was Chief Improvement Officer at Cleveland Clinic before becoming the Clinic’s Interim Chief Clinical Transformation Officer in July 2023. She has also served as Director of Liver Pathology and Section Head of Surgical Pathology at Cleveland Clinic and is a former member of the Board of Governors and Vice Chair of Professional Staff Affairs.
Dr. Yerian graduated from the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed residency in Anatomic Pathology and fellowship in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology also at the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Yerian also completed the Harvard Business School Program for Leadership Development.
Dr. Yerian has authored over 150 manuscripts, articles, and book chapters and is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Association of American Medical Colleges Clinical Care Innovation Challenge Award. She serves on multiple nonprofit boards and speaks nationally and internationally on leadership, culture and improvement.
