Dana Kocsis, MSN, RN

Dana Kocsis, MSN, RN, is chief nursing officer for Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio. She has outstanding leadership skills and is able to devise strategies that appeal to people with diverse and competing interests to facilitate change and improvement. Kocsis is committed to quality and service excellence. With more than three decades in the nursing profession, she excels at employee engagement, contract negotiations, and capital and operating budget preparations.

Kocsis has clinical experience on a variety of nursing units, including medical/surgical, critical care and psychiatry. Prior to joining Union Hospital, she served as vice president of nursing operations at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Lodi Hospital for seven years. Under her leadership, the regional hospital earned the “Best Practice in Quality Award” from the National Rural Health Association and its inpatient, outpatient and emergency department all achieved patient satisfaction scores greater than the 90th percentile.

Leadership

Kocsis is a service-oriented leader who is willing to step up to the plate when called upon. During her seven-year tenure as vice president of nursing operations at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Lodi Hospital, she assumed additional responsibilities as interim vice president of operations at Akron General’s Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Institute for more than a year. Kocsis has served in several management, director and coordinator roles since 2000. Committed to continually improving her leadership skills, Kocsis has participated in the Cleveland Clinic Serving Leadership Cohort Training (2017), the Medina County Leadership Program (2015), the Tony Gorant Leadership Institute (2012) and the Healthcare Advisory Board Leadership Academy (2007).
