Description

Objectives

• To give the medical student the opportunity to function as an intern on the General Medicine service while under the supervision of the senior resident.

Description

• The student will report to the senior resident for patient assignments.
• The student's responsibilities will be similar to that of interns on the service, however, with a slightly reduced patient load.
• The student will attend morning report prior to teaching rounds on the floor.
• The student will attend daily noon didactic lectures, with work rounds taking place in the afternoon.
• The student will work with general internists assigned to your service for the period.

Night Call/Special Requirements

• Three short calls (5-10 p.m.) and one night call (6 p.m. until next morning after rounding).
