Overview
Admitting that you or someone you care about has a chemical dependency problem isn’t easy. How do you know when drinking or drug use has gotten out of hand? Generally, if it interferes with family and social life, work, health, emotional stability and/or spiritual life, then chemical dependency is a problem. Addiction is a difficult and frustrating illness. We understand the issues you or your loved one may be facing.
Recovery is possible and Cleveland Clinic Akron General Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center offers help and guidance. We are here to listen and support your road to recovery.
A confidential, comprehensive face-to-face interview begins our assessment process. A skilled chemical dependency counselor will review medical, emotional, behavioral and family characteristics related to drug or alcohol use. Our caring interdisciplinary team determines the appropriate level of care and will work with you to develop an individual treatment plan.
Services
Available programs include:
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)*
Professional counselors provide evaluation, treatment and recovery services while addressing lifestyle and behavioral issues in a group setting, 3 - 4 days per week.
Aftercare*
Provided once a week for those who have completed IOP as a step down for support in a group setting.
*Daytime and evening IOP and Aftercare groups available.
Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Patients enrolled in the Intensive Outpatient Program can be evaluated by our board-certified addiction specialist (American Board of Addiction Medicine) or Licensed Interdependent Practitioner and, if appropriate, be prescribed medications to assist with opioid withdrawal, and/or prescribed medication to assist with maintaining abstinence from alcohol and other drugs.
