Change in Global Physical Health in Adult Epilepsy Patients

2013 – 2021

Medical Patients (N = 3972)

7731 medically treated patients had at least 2 visits with PROMIS-10 Physical Health data available for analysis. Among those patients whose baseline PROMIS-10 Physical Health score ≤ 45 (N = 3972), 34.9% (N = 1387) showed improvement, 48.7% (N = 1936) remained stable, and 16.3% (N = 649) worsened. Median duration of follow-up was 1087 days (range, 180-2608).

Surgical Patients (N = 77)

163 surgical patients had a presurgery visit and postsurgery visit in 2021 with PROMIS-10 Physical Health data available for analysis. Among those patients whose baseline PROMIS-10 Physical Health score ≤ 45 (N = 77), 35.1% (N = 27) showed improvement, 44.2% (N = 34) remained stable, and 20.8% (N = 16) worsened. Median duration of follow-up was 881 days (range, 183-1876). Clinically meaningful change was defined as a 5-point change in T-score, based on one-half the standard deviation.¹
