Epilepsy Surgery Outcomes (N = 3080)

1991 – 2023

A total of 3080 individuals underwent epilepsy surgery between 1991 and 2023. The proportion of patients who remained seizure-free (defined as Engel I outcome) throughout the 10 years of follow-up was 37.1% (standard error ± 1.26%).

Epilepsy Surgery Outcomes by Age Group

1991 –2023

A total of 1984 adults (≥ 18 years of age) underwent epilepsy surgery between 1991 and 2023. The proportion of patients who remained seizure-free (defined as Engel I outcome) throughout the 10 years of follow-up was 35.6% (standard error ± 1.57%).

A total of 1096 pediatric patients (< 18 years of age) underwent epilepsy surgery between 1991 and 2023. The proportion of patients who remained seizure-free (defined as Engel I outcome) throughout the 10 years of follow-up was 39.8% (standard error ± 2.14%).
