Epilepsy Surgery Outcomes (N = 2606)

1991 – 2022

A total of 2606 individuals underwent epilepsy surgery between 1991 and 2022. The proportion of patients who remained seizure-free (defined as Engel I outcome) throughout the 10 years of follow-up was 34.2% (standard error ± 1.54%).

Epilepsy Surgery Outcomes by Age Group

1991 –2022

A total of 1889 adults (≥ 18 years of age) underwent epilepsy surgery between 1991 and 2022. The proportion of patients who remained seizure-free (defined as Engel I outcome) throughout the 10 years of follow-up was 34.9% (standard error ± 1.8%).

A total of 717 pediatric patients (< 18 years of age) underwent epilepsy surgery between 1991 and 2022. The proportion of patients who remained seizure-free (defined as Engel I outcome) throughout the 10 years of follow-up was 32.6% (standard error ± 2.96%).
