Cleveland Clinic Center for General Neurology provides comprehensive, personalized care for many different conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. Our goal is to reduce and eliminate the impact of neurological disorders, including complex and rare conditions.

Diagnostics & Testing

Neurological symptoms can overlap and mimic those of other conditions, so diagnosis can be challenging. That’s why we take many important steps in confirming your condition. We'll talk about your symptoms and do physical and neurological exams, blood tests and specialized tests like:

• MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).
• CT (computed tomography) scans.
• EMG (electromyography).
• Electroencephalogram (EEG).
• Spinal tap (lumbar puncture).
• Autonomic nervous system testing.
• Quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test (QSART).
• Skin biopsy for small fiber sensory neuropathy.
• Ultrasound of peripheral nervous system.

Image Copy Request

When requesting a copy of radiology images, please allow a minimum of a 48-hour advance notice for all test results conducted at any of our imaging centers.

All CDs will be sent to your home address via UPS.

Refer a Patient

The Center for General Neurology offers direct referral lines to ease the process of making a patient referral.

To refer a patient to the Neurological Institute via phone, please call our dedicated physician referral hotline at 216.445.8455. An intake coordinator will handle your call directly. If you are unable to reach an intake coordinator, please leave a message and they’ll return your call within the work day (if left before 1 p.m. ET) or the next work day (if left after 1 p.m. ET).
