Adolescent Health
At Risk Support Groups for Adolescents
Weekly therapy groups for adolescents ages 13 to 18 who have had problems with alcohol or drugs, but are not chemically dependent. This is a low-intensity therapy group to get adolescents back on the right track. The group is covered by most insurance providers. All participants must have a formal evaluation before joining the group.

Mothers, bring your babies and share concerns and information with a lactation consultant.
A support system for breastfeeding mothers. Group setting, but individual advice and attention from a lactation consultant provided. Problem solving for engorgement, latching on, weaning, pumping and storing milk, growth spurts, etc. Mothers only for privacy reasons.

Look Good, Feel Better
The Look Good Feel Better program is a nonmedical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to women in active cancer treatment to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of treatment. The program is a collaboration of the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and the Professional Beauty Association. Cleveland Clinic Foundation is a program host.

Individuals who are seeking weight loss, weight loss surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery are invited to participate in any of the following programs.
General Bariatric Surgery Support Group
These groups are informal, interactive discussions led by one of the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute's healthcare team members encouraging patient-to-patient dialogue and support. The meetings follow a monthly theme, such as nutrition, exercise, additional weight loss tips and resources, and co-morbidities common to bariatric patients.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group
This meeting is held for patients, caregivers, family and friends of those diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Most meetings involve a brief presentation by an expert on some aspect of dealing with pulmonary fibrosis, such as understanding the disease, available treatments, and the basics of supplemental oxygen.
The presentation is followed by a question/answer session and then a discussion led by the group.

Look Good, Feel Better
For patients with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy treatments. Skin care and make up tips are some of the of the topics discussed. The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, the National Cosmetology Association, the American Cancer Society and the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center sponsor this program. Stroke
Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Support Group
Stroke and brain aneurysms are serious neurological diseases which can leave a person with a wide variety of deficits affecting them physically, cognitively and/or psychologically. The Cerebrovascular Center at Cleveland Clinic is dedicated to helping those affected by strokes and brain aneurysms by offering a support group that focuses on alleviating the effects of the disease through support and education.

Participating in a support group allows you to meet others with similar health concerns and issues. It allows you to connect with others in comparable situations and share experiences and coping strategies. Anyone who has suffered a stroke and/or brain aneurysm is welcome to come with or without a family member or support person.

Weight Control
Individuals who are seeking weight loss, weight loss surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery are invited to participate in any of the following programs.
General Bariatric Surgery Support Group
These groups are informal, interactive discussions led by one of the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute's healthcare team members encouraging patient-to-patient dialogue and support. The meetings follow a monthly theme, such as nutrition, exercise, additional weight loss tips and resources, and co-morbidities common to bariatric patients.

Binge-eating Group Session
Binge eating can be a very serious disorder common in candidates for bariatric surgery. This group supports you in making changes in your attitude toward food, and enhancing your ability to find new skills to cope with your stress and eating habits.

MASTERY
(Managing After Surgery: Tools, Eating, Relationships & You)
This series of group sessions is designed to help optimize your success and adjustment after surgery by addressing multiple changes and challenges you may be facing. Topics include: grieving the loss of food as a source of pleasure/comfort; enhancing coping skills; increasing pleasurable activities; overcoming barriers to exercise; assertive communication; social skills for social eating; body image and changes; personal relationship and mindfulness.

Substance Risk Reduction Group
This group is designed for bariatric patients (pre and post-surgery) with an established pattern of problematic drinking or previous history of addictive behaviors.

Life After Surgery Group
Life After Surgery gives post-surgical patients the opportunity to explore the benefits they have experienced and address the obstacles they are facing. Such barriers may include poor body image, changes in relationships, and unrealistic expectations.

Learn how to increase your benefits of bariatric surgery. Preparing for surgery involves changing your current everyday patterns, which requires hard work and commitment.
