When it comes to your health, being understood matters. We’re committed to making that a reality for our patients. Our interpreters provide the support you need to ask questions, share your story and take part in your care with confidence.
Communicating in Your Language
If English isn’t your first language, we can provide interpreters at no cost to you and your companions. This service is available at all locations, 24/7, in our hospitals and by phone. So, communication is simple, clear and centered on you.
Connecting With Your Care Team in ASL
At Cleveland Clinic, we make it as easy as possible for you to communicate in the way that works best for you. If you or your companions use American Sign Language (ASL), interpreters are provided at no charge. On-site interpreters are available for scheduled appointments at all locations, and we offer video remote interpreting (VRI) at all hospitals and most family health centers. VRI gives quick access to remote ASL interpreters whenever you need them.
Requesting an ASL interpreter for your visit
We’ve created a tool to let our team know you need an ASL interpreter. There are a few ways you can share the information from this tool with us when you come in for care. You can:
- Print and fill it out to bring to your appointment
- Pull it up on your mobile device when you arrive
- Ask for interpreter help when you check in on MyChart or at the desk
How are we doing?
We’d love to hear about your experience using ASL interpreter services. Your feedback helps us continue to provide care that’s truly centered on you.
