Autoimmune Neurology

Autoimmune encephalitis is a rare but complex disease that can cause both cognitive and physical impairments.¹ The physical manifestations may result from a series of different autoantibodies, each having different effects on the central nervous system.² Determining which antibodies are involved quickly can lead to faster treatments and better outcomes. The Autoimmune Encephalitis Panels (ENC2 and ENS2) are send-out tests used at the Mellen Center to help clinicians determine whether autoantibodies cause a patient's symptoms.
