Autoimmune Encephalitis

Autoimmune Encephalitis is a rare but complex disease that can cause both cognitive and physical impairments.¹ Patients referred for AE evaluation at the Mellen Center undergo a careful evaluation and workup to determine if their symptoms have an autoimmune etiology. Those who are confirmed to have an autoimmune component have a care plan established, which includes neuropsychological testing.²
