Diagnostic Radiology: Cardiovascular Imaging - MRI/CT
The Section of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Cleveland Clinic is one of the few centers in the country offering imaging of the cardiovascular system by radiologists and cardiologists specifically trained in cardiac imaging.
Comprehensive imaging services provided include plain film radiography, cardiac computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) for both acquired cardiac disease in adults and congenital heart disease in children and adults. In addition to maintaining close clinical working relationships with the Departments of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and the Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, the section conducts ongoing research projects to improve clinical care and find cost-effective approaches to that care.
Specific research interests include evaluation of thoracic aortic pathology, myocardial viability studies, RV (right ventricular) dysplasia, myocardial function in ischemic and dilated cardiomyopathies, and functional evaluation of pre- and post-operative congenital heart disease.
