Overview

Overview

Dietmar Cordes, PhD, is the Director of the Neuroimaging Group at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas and the Stacie and Chuck Mathewson endowed chair for brain imaging. His primary research interest is the development of multivariate methods for functional, resting-state, and structural MRI. His group designs advanced tools to obtain a more accurate picture of the working brain to better characterize neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and cognitive impairment in professional fighters.

The imaging group also develops imaging biomarkers that are dedicated specifically to the early detection of neurological diseases and monitoring effects of potential treatments. Ultimately, the imaging methods that are being developed will assist clinicians in improving the treatment and assessment of their patients.
