Conference Objectives:

  • Discuss how to utilize the electronic interface for tracking referrals and how participants will be able to identify best practices to partner with dialysis patients through the transplant process.
  • Discuss how participants will be able to identify and address psychosocial barriers that may impede successful patient outcomes in the transplantation process.
  • Discuss how to understand the current nutrition recommendations of a dialysis dependent patient pursuing kidney transplantation and any weight loss goals needed to qualify.
  • Discuss and understand the importance of medication compliance as well as pre-transplant vaccination with kidney transplant patients.
  • Discuss the utilization of increased risk criteria for deceased donor kidneys including HIV organs and open organ offers.
