Change in Visual Acuity by Procedure

Change in Visual Acuity by Procedure (N = 70)

DMEK = Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty, DSAEK = descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty, ETDRS = early treatment diabetic retinopathy study, PK = penetrating keratoplasty

The mean improvement in ETDRS visual acuity score in DSAEK or DMEK patients was 15.72 letters, corresponding to an improvement of > 3 lines of visual acuity. PK patients had worse preoperative vision than DSAEK or DMEK patients and gained a mean of 11.83 letters, equivalent to 2 lines of visual acuity. N = patients who completed 3 to 12 months of follow-up after DSAEK, DMEK or PK.
