Sepsis
The fight against sepsis involves all the members of Cleveland Clinic’s interprofessional team. The MICU team, with full institutional support, continues to review performance and implement innovative strategies. The interventions include recognizing symptoms in patients early, treating infection appropriately, and optimizing resuscitation to allow for rapid recovery.

The ICU and hospital sepsis mortality rate of patients treated for sepsis at Cleveland Clinic is as expected for both their ICU and hospital stays when compared with similar institutions. The total number of sepsis patients at Cleveland Clinic's main campus has remained consistent over the last three years.
