LDL Levels Among Statin-Intolerant Adults

Primary and Secondary Prevention

Primary Cardiovascular Disease Prevention: Statin-Intolerant Adults

2016 – 2020, N = 234

Patients referred to the preventive cardiology department for primary prevention who could not tolerate statins experienced reductions in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels. Patients were seen at baseline, defined as their first visit, and had at least 2 follow-up visits within the past 2 years. The time between visits varied from patient to patient.

LDL = low-density lipoprotein

Lab values were somewhat limited due to COVID-19. Fluctuations in 2020 volumes are a result of significant changes to the number of patients treated, which can be directly attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Secondary Cardiovascular Disease Prevention: Statin-Intolerant Adults

2016 – 2020, N = 322

Patients referred to the preventive cardiology department for secondary prevention who could not tolerate statins experienced reductions in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels. Patients were seen at baseline, defined as their first visit, and had at least 2 follow-up visits within the past 2 years. The time between visits varied from patient to patient.
