About Imaging Institute

Cleveland Clinic’s Imaging Institute is continuously working to provide patients the most up-to-date technological advances and innovative treatment options in diagnostic testing.

The Imaging Institute ranks as one of the leading radiological academic centers in the world as well as one of the busiest clinical departments in the country. Each year, Cleveland Clinic radiologists perform and interpret more than 1.9 million examinations. All images, including chest X-rays and other plain films, are acquired digitally.

Imaging Institute radiologists are leaders in their specialties. They are responsible for the publication of numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts each year, serve on committees of the most prestigious radiologic societies and are involved in cutting-edge research. This research encompasses treatment of acute stroke, magnetic resonance angiography, three-dimensional imaging, digital radiography, digital mammography, cardiac magnetic resonance, cartilage imaging, electronic image distribution and intravascular ultrasound.

In addition to providing imaging services at Cleveland Clinic’s main campus, the institute manages imaging at Cleveland Clinic family health centers, several free-standing imaging centers, Cleveland Clinic in Florida and the community hospitals within Cleveland Clinic health system. All Cleveland Clinic facilities are linked by a single Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which allow images taken in one location to be viewed anywhere in the health system.

The Institute is composed of the Departments of Regional Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and eRadiology.
