Overview
In the stroke health services group, we investigate the patterns of stroke care in the U.S. The distribution of certified stroke centers can be traced not only to urbanization, but also to legislative efforts in different states. With grant funding, administrative data from stroke patients under Medicare from 2009 to 2013 have been investigated.
Temporal trends in the decline in mortality after stroke appears to be unrelated to the increase in certified stroke centers. Other approaches using American Heart Association Get-With-The-Guidelines registry and National Inpatient Sample have been used to understand the association of in hospital care and outcomes.
