The Maternity Center at Union Hospital is designed for the needs of mothers and their babies with a warm, family-centered environment. From prenatal education to the time the new family goes home, the staff of the Maternity Center is committed to making childbirth a rewarding experience for you and your family, including:
- Board-certified physicians to deliver and care for your new baby.
- Knowledge and experience to manage routine and high-risk pregnancies.
- Friendly, caring staff who make you feel at home.
- Family support through childbirth education, lactation consultation and orientation tours.
Services
Union Hospital’s Maternity Center can help you and your baby get the best start possible. We offer a variety of services both before and after your baby arrives:
Orientation Tours
Expectant families are welcome to tour our Maternity Center and talk to our staff planning their childbirth. For a personal tour and to discuss your desired birth experience, call 330.364.0853.
Childbirth Education Classes
Couples who are delivering their baby at Union Hospital are eligible to take part in our free Childbirth Education Class. Our experienced maternity nurses help parents learn more about the labor process, anesthesia options, breathing techniques, care of a newborn and postpartum care of mother. The class includes a tour of the Maternity Center.

Lactation Consultation
The Lactation Office provides education and support for breastfeeding mothers while they are in the hospital and on an outpatient basis.
M-Power Program
Cleveland Clinic’s M-Power Program delivers care designed for patients whose perinatal experience may be affected by previous traumatic events. These can include assault, physical or sexual abuse, previous childbirth trauma or other significant life events.
Nurses specially trained in trauma-informed care provide confidential and compassionate support, as part of a holistic approach to ensure that you feel prepared for labor, delivery and the postpartum period.
