Primary care doctors are typically the first medical point of contact for patients, helping to manage your overall health, diagnose new illnesses and manage chronic diseases. Should you need specialized care, your primary care doctor can refer you to a specialist who will work collaboratively with your doctor to ensure that you receive the best possible care. Also, as your health advocate, your primary care doctor can help outline important health screenings and preventive measures that will keep you well.
