Rheumatic Lung Disease Program
The Rheumatic Lung Disease Program provides multidisciplinary care for patients from around the world with breathing issues from the connective tissue diseases and vasculitides. Although it is a subsection of DPLD, the Rheumatic Lung Disease Program offers comprehensive care for all pulmonary manifestations of rheumatologic disorders including interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, airways diseases and pleural disease. Close collaboration with rheumatology ensures that the systemic manifestations of these diseases are also addressed. In addition to providing access to the most advanced therapies and clinical trials, the Rheumatic Lung Disease Program also works closely with the Lung Transplant Program so that transplant remains a viable option when these therapies fail. With a major focus on scleroderma, the Rheumatic Lung Disease is an important component of the Cleveland Clinic’s Scleroderma Center of Excellence.
