Health care professionals specializing in caring for this diverse and fragile population will be interested in learning about the most up-to-date information related to treatment modalities, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, palliative care, survivorship, nursing advocacy and professional development. Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission

You are invited to submit an abstract for a poster presentation for the Oncology Nursing Conference, March 28th & 29th, 2019. Please join us for a cutting edge comprehensive conference on contemporary topics of interest related to oncology patients across the lifespan. Health care professionals specializing in caring for this diverse and fragile population will be interested in learning about the most up-to-date information related to treatment modalities, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, palliative care, survivorship, nursing advocacy and professional development.

Posters will be displayed during the conference. Abstracts of completed or on-going nursing projects which address nursing research, clinical practice, novel programs or solutions to meet the needs of patients, families or the team who care for oncology patients will be considered.

Abstracts must be received no later than February 12, 2019.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstracts not conforming to the stated requirements will not be reviewed and will be returned.
  • Each abstract should be single spaced and fit on one page (not to exceed 300 words).
  • Black type using a 12 pt. font size and 1” margins.
  • Do not include charts or graphs.
  • Research abstracts must include: problem statement, aims, methods (design, subjects, setting, variables, and interventions, if applicable), results and implications for nursing. Bold type each section title.
  • Non-research abstracts must include: background/problem, project description, project goals, evaluation/results and implications for nursing. Bold type the title of each section.
  • One copy of the abstract must be submitted via email in the following format:
    • Use a left-justified margin for title and text, do not indent.
    • Type the title in capital letters on the first and any following lines. Immediately after the title, list the last name and first initial of the authors.
    • List the institution of the first author after the last author. Omit degrees and titles. Follow institutional name with city and state.

Example:
A NOVEL APPROACH TO PATIENT CARE. Jones, J., Smith, N., Any Hospital, Cleveland, OH.

Leave the next line blank. Begin the text left-justified on the next line following the submission guidelines as stated above.

Additional Information: Posters must be unmounted. Display boards and pins will be available. Posters will be mounted on a 6’ X 4’ board. A panel of nurse leaders will blindly review submissions. You will be notified of acceptance by February 19, 2019 via email.
