Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute is seeking qualified applicants for a clinical-research fellowship dedicated to developing expertise in clinical and solid tumor and genitourinary oncology. This fellowship is a one-year program designed for candidates who have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and/or a fellowship in hematology/medical oncology and are interested in advancing a career in academic oncology with a focus on solid tumors.
The Experimental Therapy in Solid Tumor and Genitourinary Oncology Fellowship (to be now known as the Developmental Therapeutics Fellowship) is designed to integrate clinical and translational research with patient care and prepare participants for academic careers as researchers. The goals of the training program are to obtain in-depth training in clinical oncology research with an emphasis on learning about novel drug development, statistical analysis, clinical trials, writing protocols etc. Applicants will also gain clinical experience in genitourinary cancers and complete their project with the goal of presenting their work at a national meeting and publishing in a peer-reviewed journal.
Alumni of this fellowship have published in top sub-specialty journals and have been successful in obtaining oncology faculty and fellowship positions at top academic programs in the U.S. Clinical responsibilities consist of ambulatory rotations in solid tumor oncology and our genitourinary oncology clinic at the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Institute.
