Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) works by delivering 100% oxygen to the patient in a pressurized room. The oxygen level in the patient’s blood increases, which significantly improves healing. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is proven to aid healing in:
- Chronic non-healing diabetic wounds.
- Late effects of radiation therapy.
- Compromised skin grafts/flaps.
- Chronic bone infections.
The unit is accessible via the main hospital entrance. HBOT is covered by Medicare and Medicaid and most commercial insurance plans. A physician referral is required.
