Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center (Taussig) Outcomes

To ensure that patients were not remaining in the hospital for longer than medically necessary, the Taussig Cancer Institute evaluated workflows to streamline processes related to planning for discharge. This allowed for a reduction in potentially avoidable delays and resulted in an improvement in observed-to-expected length of stay. Ratios less than 1.0 indicated length of stay performance which is better than expected.
