Special procedures and treatments

The treatment strategies include weight reduction, regular exercise and selecting the appropriate cholesterol lowering medications. In addition, in patients who have diabetes, the dyslipidemia associated with metabolic syndrome may determine which medications are used for glucose lowering. Blood tests are the best way to make the diagnosis.
