About Rahul Tendulkar, MD

Dr. Rahul Tendulkar is an Associate Staff Physician in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. 

Dr. Tendulkar completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan and then attended the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed residency training in radiation oncology at Cleveland Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident. He joined the Cleveland Clinic faculty in 2008, and is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He currently serves as the Clinical Director and Residency Program Director for the Department of Radiation Oncology. 

His clinical interests are in the treatment of breast cancers and genitourinary cancers with radiation therapy, including cardiac-sparing breast radiation, accelerated partial breast irradiation, prone whole breast radiation, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for prostate cancer, and prostate brachytherapy.

His areas of active research interest include the development of predictive models for outcomes in the treatment of high risk breast cancer and prostate cancer. Read about his latest research and insights on treatment innovations on ConsultQD.

I called twice to request an appointment for my initial visit for computer simulation and mapping, but no one called me back. Finally, Dr. Tendulkar himself called me, and then I got an appointment.

Unfortunately, Dr. Tendulkar was paged and had to leave midway through our visit, but I had met with him twice before and I was very impressed with him. His assistant took over when he left, and she explained the treatment plan to me.

Dr. Tendalkar snd the resident named Michael were extremely caring and kind. we never felt rushed. This was our third opinion and we had not been treated this well by anyone. My husband felt hopeful after talking to Dr. Tendalkar and, in fact, wanted to hug him, but refrained.
