Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 2/19/2018, Dr. Aboussouan has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Aboussuan, in pulmonary medicine, is one of the best physicians my father has at the Cleveland Clinic. He is a wonderful doctor - kind, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend him as a doctor to anyone needing a pulmonologist. Also, his administrative assistant, Carla is very kind and compassionate and always helpful.

Excellent dr. #1. No delays.

I had an appointment scheduled with a provider in this office. I scheduled that 4 months in advance. The week prior to the appointment, the provider had to cancel the appointment. The next available appointment was another 4 month wait. It is quite aggravating that I started the process 8 months prior to actually being seen.

excellent experience with physician. Being seen every 5 months so visits prescheduled with PFTs. No real prescriptions out out of the office so no office medication interaction other than BiPap needed. PFTs discussed at visit so no calls needed to me. This is tertiary specialist follow up (not routine checkup). There should be more than one person doing F/u scheduling during busy times for A90 area. My appointment with pulmonary physician was excellent. Some of the questions not truly applicable for the dynamics of this particular visit.

Provider only has appointments at main campus now which is somewhat inconvenient for me.

Dr. A. was very helpful and knowledgeable. He discussed pros/cons of different sleep studies and rationales for them. I felt utterly respected. We did not need to discuss medications at this time although he did ask me about my caffeine consumption. Dr. A was very informed of my medical history. He was highly professional, very knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate. I have full confidence in his ability to help me with my presenting medical problem.

Reviewed on Jan 5, 2018

Dr. A provided direction for scheduling testing and follow-up care. He was very thorough, patient and explained the process to me very clearly. I could not ask for better communication. Excellent experience. The woman in the check-out area was very helpful and efficient in scheduling my testing for me. She was very considerate of my scheduling needs.

Reviewed on Nov 8, 2017

Dr. has strong opinions about what I should do but respects my decisions about my care.
