Biography

About Mayank Roy, MD

Dr. Mayank Roy, MD, MRCS, MSc, FACS is board-certified in Surgery specializing in the treatment of benign and malignant conditions of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile duct. In his practice, Dr. Roy is widely respected for his expertise in both open and minimal invasive surgical interventions for these diagnoses as well as his unique expertise in the surgical management of colorectal metastasis to the liver.

After receiving his medical degree from Veer Surendra Sai Medical College, Dr. Roy spent more than five years in England undergoing surgical training where he was entitled to the membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He completed a Surgical internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. He then completed a residency in General Surgery followed by a fellowship in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He completed an additional two years of HPB fellowship training at the Royal London Hospital and The London Clinic. Dr. Roy has a master’s degree in Clinical Trials through the University of Edinburgh.

Currently, Dr. Roy serves as a Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery and as the Associate Program Director of General Surgery Residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He is an Associate Professor at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Roy’s research focuses on surgical management of metastatic disease to the liver, pancreatic cancer, and gallbladder cancer. Prior to his current research focus, Dr. Roy was active in research on fluorescent imaging in abdominal surgery and the use of this technology to improve surgical precision.

Among his many achievements, Dr. Roy has contributed to multiple research publications, abstracts, journal articles and book chapters. He is an Ad Hoc Reviewer for the Journal of the American College of Surgeons and Surgery and has lectured both nationally and internationally on topics related to his specialty. Dr. Roy won multiple awards and served in numerous surgical committees during his residency and fellowship.
