About Paul C. Bryson, MD

Paul C. Bryson, MD is an otolaryngologist who specializes in voice and swallowing rehabilitation

Dr. Bryson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2004 with honors. While in medical school, he decided to pursue a career in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and completed his residency training at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After completing his training in North Carolina, he completed a fellowship in laryngeal surgery and voice rehabilitation at the Harvard Medical School Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for laryngeal surgery and voice rehabilitation.

His specialty interests encompass the full range of voice and oropharyngeal swallowing disorders including: medical and surgical care of the professional/performer's voice, benign vocal cord lesions such as nodules or polyps, vocal cord dysplasia or early cancer, vocal cord papilloma, vocal cord paralysis, neurolaryngological problems such as spasmodic dysphonia, Zenker's diverticulum and cricopharyngeal dysphagia. Dr. Bryson also sees adult patients with airway problems such as subglottic stenosis or bilateral vocal cord paralysis.

Since being recruited to the Cleveland Clinic in 2010, Dr. Bryson has expanded the scope of office-based procedures offered to patients including: vocal fold injection, laryngeal botox, trans-nasal esophagoscopy, videostroboscopy, and office based laser procedures for papilloma and vocal cord papilloma leukoplakia/dysplasia.

Within the Cleveland Clinic Voice Center, Dr. Bryson works collaboratively with speech-language pathologists who specialize in voice and swallowing disorders to offer patients a multi-disciplinary approach to their voice, swallowing, or airway problem.

Within otolaryngology, Dr. Bryson is a member of several professional societies including: The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO), The Triological society, the American College of Surgeons, and the Voice Foundation. He serves as a committee member of the airway and swallowing committee of the AAO.  He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

The wait was fine. I wanted the information to be conveyed to both me and my wife. Dr Bryson is extremely thorough and has excellent patient bedside manor. If I have ocassion to refer a patient to Dr. Bryson I will not hesitate.

There can only be an excellent recommendation that will be given for Dr. Bryson. He was very down to earth with the explanation of the procedure which has made both me and my spouse feel comfortable. The staff that also helped in the procedure were well trained in each step Dr. Bryson made. My compliments a thousand times to Dr. Bryson and his staff for the most pleasant time spent for an office visit with 100% satisfaction. my visit with Dr. Bryson was wonderful. He spent time with me and explained everything very well and then gave a recap of everything he stated. He answered all my questions and concerns and explained treatment possibilities. I'm thankful I was able to see him.

Dr. Bryson was held up in the operating room. His nurse offered water or pop and kept us informed on wait time. We did not mind waiting at all because they explained the delay and kept us informed. Wonderful office.

Dr Bryson is one of the most patient doctors I have. I have a condition that has not been easy to treat or maintain healthy for long periods of time. Dr Bryson is constantly trying to find new ways or procedures to help me. I've been with him for 5 years and he never gives up, or says there's nothing more he can do. It's amazing and I feel safe and 100% trust him and his staff. He explains every procedure and treatment and is never bothered by my questions.

Dr. Bryson & Dr. Silva took the time and explained everything to us. Our doctors in Pittsburgh have you in and out so fast you cannot think straight. Both doctors took the time to exam me and explain our options. We were very impressed.

Dr. Bryson was able to figure out what was causing my chronic cough and what to prescribe me to manage it. My prescription stops my cough completely and I feel as if my life is back to normal when I'm taking it. I'm hoping it will eventually get rid of my cough permanently. He has been more knowledgable and helpful than any of the other several other doctors I have tried and I will definitely continue treatment through him.
