Epilepsy Research Programs | Cleveland Clinic

The Epilepsy Center research is fundamental and supported with technology and experience necessary to map the brain’s electrical activity, localize the seizure source and, if appropriate, remove the source for patients with adult epilepsy. The Epilepsy Center’s staff is involved in research programs investigating the causes of epilepsy to improve patient outcomes. We are interested in using advanced imaging techniques to develop and understand neurophysiologic markers of epileptic zones and functional networks in the brain to improve quality of care in patients with epilepsy. The center is also interested in translational research aimed at optimizing treatment outcomes of patients with epilepsy using today’s therapies, while striving to develop safer and more successful treatments for tomorrow.
