Virtual Care

Mentor Hospital hosts an innovative virtual platform to bring Cleveland Clinic care to all our patients. Cutting-edge telehealth technology are embedded throughout the hospital, allowing patients to consult with Cleveland Clinic specialists from their bed in Mentor Hospital — regardless of where the physician is located.

Every inpatient room is outfitted with a high-resolution camera and TV to help with these consultations. The emergency department has a telehealth “robot,” a mobile telehealth station to facilitate consults for patients in the unit.

More information is available in your admissions folder (or available upon request).

Spiritual Care/Healing Services

The Center for Spiritual Care provides care and support for the religious and spiritual needs of those who come through our doors, including patients, their families and loved ones, and Cleveland Clinic caregivers. Our clinically trained chaplains are committed to providing appropriate and compassionate spiritual care while respecting each individual’s own faith tradition and religious or spiritual beliefs. Our services are also available to the nonreligious for support under stress. Chaplains respect the beliefs, dignity and privacy of all people. They do not impose their beliefs or religious practices. They’re caring listeners who’ve been trained to help with the special needs of hospitalized patients and their families. Chaplains work with the healthcare team so that spiritual concerns and needs will be addressed. The Center for Spiritual Care can help when a patient, family member, significant other, or a caregiver is anxious, frightened, or upset about their own or a patient’s health condition.

If you wish to have a visit from clergy of a particular faith or from your own pastor, priest, rabbi or imam, our office will help you and can be reached at 440.312.3292.

Ombudsman

The ombudsman is the liaison between Mentor Hospital and the patient. They can help resolve issues that may arise during treatment. We recommend that patients first attempt to address their concerns with the department in which the issue occurred. If a resolution with the person providing your care isn’t reached, we encourage patients to contact the department manager or supervisor.

If these attempts are unsatisfactory, call our Ombudsman Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or please leave a message anytime at 440.312.9140. Presenting an issue does not in itself compromise a patient’s future access to care.
